Our history

Timbertown Medical Centre was a solo practice which was opened in June 2000, by Dr Yi-Ping Partridge. Dr Daphene Connor purchased the Practice in January 2006 and has operated at 75 Coulson Street until relocating to 91 Coulson Street on 1st July 2013.

The Blackbutt area in the South Burnett Regional Council is a 166 km drive northwest of Brisbane via the Lockyer Valley. The area produces cattle, small crops, fruit and coal with a power plant to the northwest.

The Medical Centre primarily services North & South Blackbutt, North Benarkin and Yarraman. This is approximately a 20km radius which totals 1,256km2. This immediate area had an estimated population of 8,000 people in 2006 according to Census data.

Total area of service expands the area to Moore in the east and Nanango to the north-west, increasing the area to 2,827km2 and providing coverage for over 14,000 people. The population is now significantly higher if you consider 5 years of natural increase and inward migration have occurred since the previous census. Note there has been one study indicating only minor population increase but in the year following Census the old Nanango Shire Council approved almost 500 new building permits which indicate the population growth has been a little more than modest. This region lies within the postcodes of 4306, 4614 and 4615 and is roughly equivalent to the size of Brisbane including its outer suburbs.
